Hayling - the Charm of the Southernmost English Seashore

Hayling Island is to be noticed on the splendid southern coast of England on the agricultural shores between the well known cities of Chichester and Portsmouth.

Hayling Island offers good deal of chances to make the most of your leisure time having pubs, restaurants, amusements, bingo, a funfair and snooker clubs as well as offering many sporting activities such as swimming, sailing, windsurfing, golf, squash, tennis, sea fishing, riding and walking.

Hayling Island is a seaside resort on the South coast of England.

Salt production was an industry on the island from the 11th century (the Domesday Book recorded a saltpan on the island for this purpose) until the late 19th century. At the northwest corner of the island lies the Hayling Oysterbeds Local Nature Reserve.

Hayling Island is surrounded by Chichester Harbour, Langstone Harbour and the Solent and is reached by a road bridge from Havant, with good road, motorway and rail connections.

The Hayling Island Kitesurf School was set up in 1999 by Chris Bull, one of the pioneers of kitesurfing in the UK.

In the 1830s a guide to Hayling said ’such is the health of this sweet island that although a medical man resides here, his services are seldom in request’.

There is plenty going on in this little idyll of an Island

If you could make the decision to take a holiday and come to Hayling island then a extraordinary place to rest would be Cockle Warren Cottage Hotel - it is pretty much on the sea front and you will be enclosed in the enamor of the cottage with the warm sea air knocking on your bedroom windowpane.
