Prams and Pushchairs Are for Children of Different Ages

We often use the words ‘pram’ and ‘pushchair’ interchangeably and hardly realize the distinction between the two. The fact is that they are two different products meant for children of different ages.

A pram or perambulator or pram pushchairs is for young babies who cannot sit. It is generally used for babies who need to be carried around and are asleep most of the time. It allows a baby to lie down and sleep safely while travelling. It is cosy and padded in order to ensure that the baby doesn’t experience any discomfort while sleeping in it. Modern-day prams have improved features like good suspension, good storage facility, shade from sun, rain and insects, etc.

Pushchairs are made for slightly grown up children who are capable of sitting. They remain awake for most of the time and learn to interact with the world. Pushchairs are light in weight, sturdy and easily manouevrable.

Whichever product you choose, you need to make sure that it is comfortable for your baby and will keep him/her safe. A wrong pushchair or pram can make your baby uncomfortable and unhappy and may make it difficult for you to operate the carriage properly. You must have a look at different models and versions available in the market before making a choice. You can examine different types of prams or pushchairs in shops or read their reviews online to know their features and whether they suit your needs. Never make the mistake of choosing something for your child just because it is cheap.
